THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE SAWA RIVER BANK 

The selected area is one of the oldest, and it's under protection of the city, as "identity card" of Belgrade. In addition, it's one of the most attractive places with a great views of the skyline. That's why, it's really disturbing the fact that these places are in bad condition, as well as undefined public spaces which can give cultural entertainment.

The project aims to activate the selected area, the use of their potential and create a dynamic urban space, which refers to the historical values in the modern interpretation and design. The new pedestrian connections (4 bridges) are designed to solve communication problem beetwen harbour and old city. Proposition for former port storage Beton Hala is the design of new dynamic objects with cultural and social offer and entertainment activities, which do not impair old Kalemegdan look. Design of terraces is inspired by Fortress Kalemegdan (the most important heritage of the city). The aim is to create stone sculpture, which establishes geometrical shape of the fortress.
