THE STONE ISLAND IN BELGRADE

Awarded work for the competition „Water spaces 4 people” during 2nd International Scientific Conference Sensitive Approach 2Water in Urban Planning, Landscape Design and Architecture organized in Poznan, 2011.

The main intention of restructuring the existing Belgrade's island Malo Ratno Ostrvo is adaptation of this place for recreation, culture and its connection with the existing park Uscie.

The island was given the character of the stone island. Shape alludes to the meandering river, the terrain and space organization accepts the basic viewpoints of the Old Town. Island is also a great pretext to reduce the gap between man and river and direct contact with her.
